The Princess Beatrice
This Indian turquoise and pearl necklace was the wedding present from her jounger brother and his wife, the Duke and Duchess of Connaught.
Princess Beatrice was, before her marriage, the possessor of a great deal of rare and beautiful dentelles and among other treasurs the magnifencent lace that Catharine of Aragon brought with her when she first came to England as a bride.
Above, the princess at a costume-ball, she is wearing some pearls, pearlstrings, pearl tassel, pearl-necklace, pearl-chocker and a large pear shaped pearl. Gems and pearls are also on the bodice.
