Maria Alexandrowna die Kameen der Zarin

Es gibt mindestens 2 grosse Paruren mit Gemmen und Kameen aus dem Haus Hessen.
Eine davon ist dieses Set, das die Zarin Maria Alexandrovna, ein deutsche Prinzessin von Hessen von Ihrer Mutter Wilhelmine Grossherzogin von Hessen-Darmstadt erhielt, es ist seit nach deren Tod wieder in die Familie zurückgekehrt und wird seit 1883 wieder im Inventar der hessischen Familie gelistet, es gehört heute zur Hessischen Hausstiftung.

Die grosse Parure mit einem Efeumuster in Gold mit untschiedlichen Kameen ist um 1804 gefertigt und haben kleine vierblättrige Kleeblätter aus Gold mit dunkelblauem Email verziert, in der Mitte jeweils eine Perle.

Es besteht aus einem Bandeau mit fünf Kameen, ein Kamm mit einer Kamee, ein Paar Ohrringen mit 4 Kameen, zwei Armbändern mit jeweils einer Kamee als Verschluss, einer Spange und einem Halsband mit 5 Kameen alle aus Onyx geschnitten.

Empress Maria Alexandrovnas Cameos

There are more than one large Parures with cameos in the possession of the House of Hesse. One of this rare sets ist this cameo parure of Grand Duchess Wilhelmine of Hesse-Darmstadt . This jewels was given to her daughter Princess Marie 1824-1880, she married in 1841 Alexander II. of Russia. The parure went back to the family after her death and is in the family inventory since 1883.

The parure of the cameos is made in 1804, the ornaments of ivy leaves are in gold, and quatrefoils with dark blue enamel, in the center a pearl, the set comprises a bandeau, a comb, a pair of earrings, a necklace, a pair of bracelets and a slide.
