Countess Lanckoronski Jewels| Important Noble Sapphires | Famous Jewels

The exquisite antique sapphire and diamond necklace was commissioned at Chaumet, Paris in 1894 by the Polish Count Lanckoronski.
Composed of a fringe of graduated rectangular-cut and cushion-shaped sapphire pendants, each in a diamond-set floral surround, suspended from a neck-chain of ribbon bow and scroll motif, ca 1893, it had an original burgundy leather fitted case embossed with the initials IL and a coronet.
The necklace is certainly amongst one of the most exquisite jewels by the Parisian house. One of the motifs on the piece, the small and very delicate ribbon bow, is a recurring theme in Chaumet jewels of the 1890s and early 1900s.
The fine antique sapphire and diamond tiara with the openwork mount designed as a series of circular and rose-cut diamond leaf scrolls set at intervals with cushion-shaped sapphires above a band of calibre-cut sapphires with cushion-shaped diamond points, rose-cut diamonds line borders mounted in silver and gold. Once fitted with sapphires drops, the tiara was later modified.
