Prince Carls gift for Princess Ingeborg

The Boucheron diamond tiara was a gift from Prince Carl of Sweden. He bought it for his wife Ingeborg at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900. The diamond tiara, in the form of large and small loops, is made in platinum.
In later years, Princess Ingeborg wore the jewels decorated with three large pearls in diamond clusters, just as Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna sold her jewels and her Hallberg-Tiara >>

Crown Princess Märtha wore the Boucheron tiara only once, at a reception at theWaldorf Astoria Hotel in 1939 when she and Olav were in the USA on an official visit. The tiara was obviously a loan from her mother.

The big bracelet is actually a bandeau that was a wedding gift from King Gustav V. The bracelet is now the private property of Princess Astrid. The delicate pearl tiara of Princess Ragnhild is her private property and will not be returned to the royal family when she dies, unlike her other tiara with diamond-drops, which was a gift to Queen Maud. The latter is hears to wear for her lifetime; after her death it will be a part of the royal collection.

The pearl and diamond tiara was given to princess Ragnhild of Norway a granddaughter of Princess Ingeborg >>

Boucheron Schlaufen Diadem

Many thanks to Monica Hansen for this rare pictures and information!
