Die Erbprinzessin zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg ist oben abgebildet, mit einer Diamant Brosche in Form einer Bourbonenlilie .
Fürstin Alexandra Luise Olga Viktoria zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg wurde am 1. September 1878 als viertes Kind von Herzogin Marie (Tochter von Zar Alexander II. von Russland) und Herzog Alfred (Sohn von Königin Viktoria von Großbritannien) von Edinburgh in Coburg geboren, im Herzogtum Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha, das Herzog Alfred ab 1893 regierte.
Ihren Cousin 3. Grades und späteren Gatten Erbprinz Ernst II. zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg (1863-1950) lernte Alexandra anlässlich seiner vielen Reisen nach England bereits in jungen Jahren kennen. Als 15jährige fiel sie ihm besonders ins Auge, und nach heftigem Werben bei ihrer Mutter Marie erhielt Ernst 1895 die Erlaubnis zur Verlobung.
Das früheste Bild von ihr mit der Brosche ist wohl 1895, mit der Witwe Alexandrine von Sachsen-Coburg. Es könnte deshalb ein Verlobungsgeschenk sein.
1896 fand schließlich die Hochzeit in Coburg statt.

The Princess of Hohenlohe-Langenburg was the British-born HRH Princess Alexandra of Edinburgh, Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Duchess of Saxony. She was the third daughter of Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, and Grand Duchess Marie Alexandrovna of Russia.
Alexandra was one of five children:
Hereditary Prince Alfred, who died in 1899, Queen Marie of Romania; Grand Duchess Victoria Feodorovna of Russia; and Infanta Beatrice, Duchess of Galliera.
