Einige der königlich kaiserlicher Schmuck und Juwelen des Österreichischen
Kaiserhauses sind bekannt, ein Grossteil ist leider verschwunden.
Dem Wiener "Salonblatt" zufolge besteht das
der Kaiserin durch den Erzherzog Eugen
überbrachte Taufgeschenk des Kaisers Franz
Joseph aus einer großen Brillantschleife in Maschenform.
Die Schleife, an der Brust zu tragen, ist aus
einer Reihe der herrlichsten Brillanten und prächtigsten Rubinen zusammengesetzt und enthält in ihrer
Mitte als kostbarstes Juwel einen Indischen Stein,
der, ein tropfenförmiger Diamant, in zweiten
Exemplar nicht existiert und der erst nach außer
ordentlichen Bemühungen erworben werden konnte.
Die Brillantmasche, deren Fassung eine nicht minder
kunstreiche ist, als der Werth ihrer Brillanten ein
kostbarer, kann zerlegt werden, so daß sie nach
Wunsch der hohen Besitzerin bald in kleinerer oder
größerer Form getragen, eventuell auch als Kopfnadel, Aigrette, benutzt werden kann. Die Brillantschleife mit dem Anhänger ist oben auf dem Bild zu sehen.
Wie ihre Sterne, so hatte die Kaiserin auch ein Juwelenset mit Diamanten und Rubinen, das mit der Zeit verändert wurde.
In der Form, dass die Kaiserin die einzelnen Blüten, als Schmuck tragen konnte oder als Bandeau mit einem geschlungen Rubinband, bzw das Rubinband auch einzeln.
Man kann den Schmuck, in fünf separate Stücke teilen und ihn als Brosche oder Haarschmuck tragen. Die Idee der Teilung ist auf den Wunsch Kaiserin Elisabeth zurückzuführen. Sie erteilte im Jahre 1864 dem Juwelier Köchert den Auftrag zur Änderung der Guirlande.
Es sollten lediglich Teile so umgestaltet wreden, dass einzelne Blüten und Blätter abnehmbar werden, um sie anderweitig tragen zu können, wie schon am Anfang, erwähnt. Die Kosten beliefen sich auf 300-400 Gulden.

Some of the royal imperial jewellery and jewels of the Austrian Imperial House are known, a large part of them have unfortunately disappeared.
According to the Viennese "Salonblatt", the christening gift of Emperor Franz Joseph, presented to the Empress by Archduke Eugene, consists of a large diamond bow in the shape of a mesh.
The bow, to be worn at the bust, is composed of a series of the most magnificent brilliants and most splendid rubies and contains in its centre, as the most precious jewel, an Indian stone, a drop-shaped diamond, which does not exist in the second copy and which could only be acquired after out of ordinary efforts.
The diamond mesh, the setting of which is no less elaborate than the value of her diamonds is a precious one, can be dismantled so that it can soon be worn in smaller or larger form, possibly also as a head pin, aigrette, according to the wishes of the high owner. The diamond bow with the pendant can be seen at the top of the picture.
Like her stars, the empress also had a set of jewels with diamonds and rubies, which changed over time.
In the form that the empress could wear the single flowers, as jewellery or as a bandeau with a looped ruby band, or the ruby band also separately.
The jewellery can be divided into five separate pieces and worn as a brooch or hair ornament. The idea of the division is based on the wish of Empress Elisabeth. In 1864 she gave the jeweller Köchert the order to change the guirlande.
Only parts were to be altered so that individual flowers and leaves could be removed to be worn elsewhere, as mentioned at the beginning. The costs amounted to 300-400 gulden.
