When the King and Queen visit Glasgow on July 12th in the year 1927, the Queen receive a hat brooch of diamonds, set in platinum, in the shape of a thistle, designed by the same firm will be prescented to the Queen at the Kelvin Hall on behaltf of the contractors of the new buildings.
Features of the ornamment are the triangualar cut diamonds in the body of the thistle and the faithful modelling of the leaves.

The cup, which stands about 18 inches in height, has three supports, finished with lion head and thistle decorations, and s surmounted by the figure of St. George and the dragon oa the cover. The arms of tha city and views of the Kelvin Hall and the new bridge at Oswald Street are engraved on the cup, which has been manufactured by Edward & Sons (Ltd.), Buchanan Street. A hat brooch of diamonds, set in platinum', - in the shape of a thistle, designed by the same firm, will be presented to the Queen at the Kelvin Hall on behalf of the contractors of the new buildings. Features of the ornament are the triangular cut diamonds in the body of the thistle, and thd faithful modelling of the leaves. At the Royal Exchange Their Majesties will be handed a loyal address contained in handsome silver-gilt casket fitted [ an inkstand. A view of the building appears on the cover of the casket, which has beeiil suitably inscribed.
It was left in 1953 to Queen Elizabeth II, she wore it from 2011 to her death frequently when visit Scotland on Royal Week.
