The historic Waldeck Pyrmont Diamond Flower Tiara has been documented by Royal Magazin since 2007. The tiara is composed of delicate diamond flower sprays with fully opened blossoms, buds and half opened flowers, including forms reminiscent of fuchsias, surrounded by diamond set leaves and curling foliage.
The jewel belongs to the historic family jewellery of the Princely House of Waldeck and Pyrmont and has been worn by several generations of its princesses. Following family tradition, it also appeared repeatedly as a bridal tiara.
Among its documented wearers were Princess Helene of Waldeck Pyrmont, who wore the family jewels for her marriage to Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany, Bathildis, Princess of Waldeck Pyrmont, Princess Altburg, and Princess Guda, who wore the family jewels for her wedding to Friedrich Wilhelm, Prince of Wied, in 1958. Princess Cecilia of Waldeck Pyrmont was photographed with the historic jewels on festive occasions in 1993 and 2003.
An important exception was Princess Emma of Waldeck Pyrmont, later Queen Emma of the Netherlands. For her marriage she received a magnificent parure and, in keeping with tradition, wore the jewels of her House of birth for the last time as a Waldeck Pyrmont bride before becoming a member of the Dutch Royal House.
The magnificent diamond garland necklace, with its large pendant diamond suspended from a diamond bow, also belongs to the historic Waldeck Pyrmont family jewellery and was repeatedly worn together with the Flower Tiara.
A New Waldeck Pyrmont Princesss wearing the Diamond Tiara in 2026
Almost twenty years after Royal Magazin first documented the history of these jewels, the Diamond Flower Tiara has appeared once again.
On 22 August 2026, Victoria Scheder Bieschin wore the historic family tiara for her marriage to Prince Johannes zu Waldeck und Pyrmont in Arolsen, continuing a bridal jewellery tradition extending through generations of the Princely House.
The appearance of the tiara in 2026 provides a remarkable new chapter in a jewel history first researched and published by Royal Magazin in 2007.
