The historic diamond brooch, made mid-19th century of bow design, set with cushion-shaped and circular-cut diamonds, the centre cluster is detochable, fitted case stomped Hübner, was formerly in the collection of Princess Isabella Hedwig Franziska Natalie of Croÿ 1856 – 1931.

The daughter of Rudolf, Duke of Croÿ, and his wife, Princess Natalie of Ligne married Archduke Friedrich, Duke of Teschen on 8 October 1878. They had eight daughters and one son, Archduchess Marie Anna was her 2nd daughter.

Archduchess Frédéric of Austria, née Princess Isabelle de Croÿ-Dülmen, wore this brooch for the coronation of Emperor Charles as King of Hungary on 30 December 1916. Above in the picture Archduchess Isabella of Austria, in imperial austria ungary courtgown, in earlier years.

The diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 20.00 - 22.00 carats, on average J-K colour, Sl- I clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount.
Signs of wear and scratches to the metal with evidence of tarnish consistent with age and use. Clasp secure, sliding safety catch.
