‘The Andean Cross’, carved from one piece of emerald, one of a kind gem - are presented to Princess Beatrice, from Queen Victoria.
Above in the picture Princess Beatrice wearing the famous emerald cross, together with a large diamond riviere as choker and a long string of pearls. The diamond fringe tiara also left to her, from her mother the Queen.
Princess Beatrice of Battenberg wore it also on some important occassion, on the baptism in 1909 when she presented the emerald cross, to her granddaughter Infanta Beatrice, eldest daughter of Ena - Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain.
And "lent it" when Infanta Maria Cristina, daughter of King Alfonso XIII of Spain, was baptism in 1911 at Madrid.
