The jewel was made by Cartier Paris in 1955 as diamond bangle in platinum, in a timeless design.
Its relative simplicity was the mark of Cartier's precious jewelry of the 1950s, which was intended to complement the wearer rather than make a huge statement.
Grace Kelly, Princess Grace Patricia of Monaco, was pictured wearing the Cartier Diamond Bangle, above.
The personal jewelry was on display for the opening of the Cartier Shop in Australia 2016, lent by the Princely Palace of Monaco.
The pieces were on temporary loan from Grace Kelly’s son, Prince Albert II of Monaco. Three other pieces from the personal collection of Princess Grace, including the 10.47-carat emerald-cut diamond engagement ring were flown to Sydney in May 2016 to mark the opening of Cartier’s Australian flagship boutique.
Most of the jewels were made before the wedding as stock by Cartier.
