A remarkable aristocratic jewel was seen last weekend at the wedding of Clara Alba Castillejo and Nicolas Denizot: the impressive diamond fringe tiara associated with the family of the Marquesa de las Claras.
This magnificent jewel belongs to the grand tradition of convertible tiaras and can be worn both as a tiara and as an important diamond necklace. Its most striking feature is formed by two rows of large diamonds rising above the lance-shaped diamond spikes, or spearhead motifs, of the fringe. These bold diamond elements give the jewel a particularly strong architectural line and a noble, almost regal appearance.
The tiara appears to have been worn as a necklace by the groom’s grandmother, Begoña de Elzaburu y Pérez de Guzmán, VI Marquesa de las Claras. She married Jean François Denizot, son of Michel Denizot and María Cristina de Borbón-Dos Sicilias.
The Marquesa de las Claras was also seen last year acting as madrina at the wedding of Jean-Philippe Denizot de Borbón-Dos Sicilias and Marta Elorduy Tourné, another occasion linking this family to important aristocratic wedding traditions.
At the recent wedding, the jewel returned to its tiara form, crowning the bride with a piece that combines aristocratic provenance, versatility and exceptional diamond presence.
A true noble family jewel, preserved across generations and still worn on important family occasions.
