Dieses Diadem gehörte einst der Zarin Marie Alexandrovna, nach deren Tod erbte es ihre Tochter die Großfürstin Maria Alexandrovna Herzogin von Edinburgh, Herzogin von Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha.
Der Zar liess den Strahlen Kokoshnik für seine Frau Tsarin Marie Alexandrovna warscheinlich beim Hofjuwelier Kämmerer anfertigen, daneben gab es noch Bolin,Ewing, Koechli, Schwan und Zeftiger.
Das sogenannte Fringe - Fransen oder Strahlendiadem war sehr populär
es war das diamantene Pendant zum Kokoschnik und ein wichtiges Schmuckstück
der Herzogin, denn der Kokoschnik war am russischen Hof, Vorschrift
passend zur Hoftracht.
Bei den Besuchen in ihrer Heimat war dieses an Sonnenstrahlen erinnernde
Diamant Diadem sicher immer dabei. Prinzessin Ileana von Rumänien,ihre
Nichte, berichtet in ihren Memoiren, dass sie Ihre Tante für Ihre
Courage bewundert hat. Sie folgte ihrem Mann und Söhnen in den
spanisches Bürgerkring.
Während des Krieges wohnte Baby Bee vis-a-vis vom Sanlucar Palast
und eröffnete ein Hospital.
Sie schreibt weiter dass die Tiara an ein Mitglied des
Britischen Königshauses verkauft wurde - das war Königin Marie von Rumänien(mehr über die Details des Verkaufs).
Das
Diadem war von 1935 bis 1960 im Besitz von Königin Marie von Yugoslavien,
der Nichte von Beatrice. Mignon oder Marie war eine geborene Prinzessin
von Rumänien und Tochter von Königin Marie von Rumänien.
This diamond fringe tiara was once part of the jewel collection of Empress Marie Alexandrovna of Russia, her husband has ordered for her, probably by the jeweller Bolin, which was the courtjeweller of this time. The kokoshnik-shaped tiara was a very popular design
which spread from the Russian court, where the empress and grand duchesses wore
it with their court-gowns, throughout Europe.
According to her nice, Princess Ileana of Roumania, "Auntie Bee
displayed great courage when she followed her husband and sons into
the spanish civil war." During the war, Beatrice bought a building
just opposite from the palace at Sanlucar, where she opened a maternity
clinic.
She also sold a family tiara - the imperial
fringe tiara - to a member of the Britisch royal family. this was Queen Marie of Romania in the year 1933(read the story and details of the sale) after she moved to swiss.
The brunt of
war soon hit home when her second son, Alonso was killed by the communists.
He was only 24 years old. Although Alonso had fought on the side of
Franco, Beatrice, later in life, was to be unsparing in her scornful
comments about General Franco's colorless personality.
Princess Beatrice of Saxe-Coburg (1884-1966), fourth and youngest daughter
of Prince Alfred of Edinburgh and his wife, Maria Alexandrovna Duke
and Duchess of Saxe-Coburg married Alfonso, 5th Duke of Galliera (1886-1935)
