Thurn und Taxis
Fürstin Margarethe, eine geborene Erzherzogin von Österreich,
konnte auf die umfangreichen, gesammelten Schmuck und Juwelen des Fürstenhauses
Thurn und Taxis, eine sehr hochwertige und ausgefallene Kollektion zurückgreifen.
Ihr Ehemann ergänzte die Sammlung wie wir oben sehen durch ein
paar bemerkenswerte Stücke.
So kann man in der Skizze der Firma Hancocks, London, einer angesehenen
Juweliersfirma, das Diadem und rechts die grosse Corsagenbrosche aus
dem Besitz der Familie Thurn und Taxis erkennen. Auch ist der Choker
im unteren Bereich dem der Fürstin sehr ähnlich.
Die Juwelen wurden lt Zeitungsbericht anlässlich einer Ausstellung
im Jahr 1866 in Paris im Palast der Industrie gezeigt. Der Schmuck wurde
mit ausdrücklicher Unterstützung durch Ihre Majestät
(Q Victoria) von Hancocks ausgestellt und hat wohl promt Anklang gefunden.
Zwei Armbänder ergänzen die Smaragd Parure, der Fürstin von Thurn und Taxis. Die wurden später verändert und Fürstin Margarethe trug die Mittelteile, der Armbänder als Cluster Broschen. Einer dieser Smaragde wurde in Genf 2013 von Christies angeboten. Der quadratische Smaragd von Altschliff Diamanten umgeben, um 1780 in 18k Gold und Silber montiert, hat eine Grösse von 2,4 x 2,4 cm. (Ich bin mir nicht ganz sicher, ob der cluster tatsächlich aus dem Armband ist, jedoch, ist es einer der Cluster der von der Prinzessin als Brosche getragen wird.)
Ca. 12.00 Karat hat der Smaragd aus Kolumbien ohne Hinweise auf Modifikation, natürliche Smaragde mit dieser außergewöhnlichen Eigenschaft, verdienen eine besondere Erwähnung und Anerkennung .
Der Smaragd wird in einer Brosche mit Diamanten besetzt und weist eine bemerkenswerte Größe und Gewicht, mit einem attraktiven und gut gesättigte grüne Farbe und ein feines Reinheit kombiniert . Die wenigen Einschlüsse, die durch mikroskopische Untersuchungen gefunden wurden, repräsentieren die Markenzeichen der kolumbianischen Smaragden von den berühmten Abbaugebiete wie Muzo, Coscuez und Chivor, alles Ausläufer der Cordillera Oriental in den kolumbianischen Anden. Die attraktive grüne Farbe, eine Kombination von ausgewogenen Spurenelemente im Stein, ist typisch und charakteristisch für die schönsten Smaragde Kolumbiens. Die Tatsache, dass dieses Steine keinen Anhaltspunkte für Modifikation zeigen, ist ein weiteres Zeichen der Seltenheit. Ein natürlicher Smaragd aus Kolumbien von dieser Qualität ist selten und außergewöhnlich.Der Aufrufpreis ist $622,014 - $842,311

The jewels were exhibited by the British jeweller Hancocks at the Paris Exhibition which took place in 1866.
The illustration caption says:
JEWELS EXHIBITED BY MR HANCOCK AT THE PARIS PALACE OF INDUSTRY
The only text on the page relating to the illustration is in the top left column for the diamond stomacher on the left side of the illustration.
"Diamond stomacher. The diamonds are interlaced and form a glittering and graceful trellis work. These rich and artistic ornaments were, a few days previously, to their being sent to Paris, submitted to her Majesty, who was pleased to express her admiration of them."
The emerald stomacher on the right, in the picture above, was also in the possession of the princely family of Thurn & Taxis.
Two bracelets match the parure, when the jewels were bought for the future Princess of Thurn and Taxis. They were later dismantled and worn as brooches. The emerald cluster from the center of one bracelet is probably sold in 2013 at auction in Geneva (I'm not sure, it could be also the smaller Cluster on the bottem of the Princess).

Ca 12.00 carat emerald is of Colombia origin, with no indications of clarity modification; also accompanied by an appendix stating that the natural emerald possesses extraordinary characteristics and merits special mention and appreciation. The emerald is set in a brooch with diamonds and exhibits a remarkable size and weight, combined with an attractive and well-saturated green colour and a fine purity. The few inclusions found by microscopic examination represent the hallmarks of Colombian emeralds from the famous mining areas as Muzo, Coscuez, and Chivor, all located in the green foothills of the Cordillera Oriental in the Colombian Andes. Its attractive green colour is due to a combination of well-balanced trace elements in the stone, typical and characteristic for the finest emeralds of Colombia. The fact that this emerald shows no indications of clarity modification is a further sign of rarity. A natural emerald from Colombia of this quality is rare and exceptional.
