In May 1977, the parure was sold at Christies New York for $121,000 (£71,160).It was thus fitting that the Duke of Westminster purchased the parure in 1977 from S.J. Phillips as an engagement present for his future bride, who wore the tiara at their wedding in 1978. Here Her Grace Natasha Phillips, wears the tiara over her wedding veil.
The Duchess of Westminster has imperial Russian connections through her descent from Grand Duke Mikhail Mikhailovich and his wife Sophie von Merenberg, Countess Torby.
