Flügel-Diadem von Chaumet mit Diamanten und blauem Email

Ein Paar exquistite Walküre Flügel als Diadem auf einem Rahmen montiert, das Motiv kommt von den Wagner Opern die zu dieser Zeit sehr Mode waren, begleitet von extra dazu veranstalteten "Tiara-Nights".


Die detailliert ausgearbeiteten Federn sind eng und üppig mit Diamanten ausgefasst und z. T. mit blauem Schmuckemail gefüllt, ein exclusiver Federschmuck. Sie können einzeln, als Paar, aber auch als Brosche getragen werden.
In der griechischen Mythologie wurde Hermes, der Götterbote mit geflügeltem Hut und Schuh dargestellt. In der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrthunderts erschien das Flügelmotiv bei Richard Wagners Opern. Vom Theater und Oper sprang das Flügelmotiv auf Kostümbälle über und war fortan als Flügeldiadem in Mode.

A remarkable Chaumet Diadem by the famous Jeweller chaumet. The tiara consists of a frame surmounted by a pair of wings, feathers closely set with diamonds, and patches of translucent blue enamel. They are adjustable to any angle and can be taken off the frame to wear as brooches, individually or as a pair.
The motif was inspired by the winged helmets worn by the flying Valkyries in the operas of Richard Wagner, which attracted large audiences. To honor the composer, Wagner nights were always "tiara nights" at the Paris and London opera houses.
This pair matches the description of the wings entered for stock in 1907 and bought by the Duke of Westminster from Chaumet that year.

Wings had a long run: Cartier supplied a pair to the duchess of Roxburghe in 1935, the last of a series that had begun in 1899.

The duke topped the Sunday Times Rich List as Britain's wealthiest individual for many years and was only eclipsed in 2004 by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. La tiara, creada por el notable joyero Chaumet, consta de un marco sobre el que se apoyan un par de alas, cuyas plumas fueron creadas con diamantes y esmalte azul. Las alas son desmontables y pueden ser usadas como dos broches a juego o individuales.
