Halsband aus Rubinen und Diamanten der Maharadscha
von Baroda aus dem Jahr 1954 von Van Cleef & Arpels..
Die Maharajas waren bekannt für ihren aussergewöhnlichen
Schmuck und Juwelen. Aber diese spektakuläre Juwelen waren traditionell, mehr für Männer gemacht, als für Damen.
Wahrscheinlich bat ihn der Maharani aus diesem Grund, einige Paruren, umzuarbeiten.

Die aus Platin montierte Halskette aus Rubinen und Diamanten bestand aus einer Linie von fallenden Brillanten von respektablem Gewicht, an dem acht abgerundete -Diamant-Briolettes, hingen, in deren Mitte sechs ovale Rubine mit einem Gewicht von jeweils etwa acht Karat gefasst waren..
Als die Maharani 1974 einen Teil ihrer Juwelen in Monaco verkaufte, um nach der Scheidung und dem Tod des Maharaja, ihre Verpflichtungen zu bezahlen, war diese ungewöhnliche Rubin Diamant Halsband dabei. Es war mit € 3 193 000 im Jahr 1974! von Van Cleef & Arpels, im Wert taxiert.

The Maharajas were known for their extraordinary jewellery and jewels. But these spectacular jewels were traditionally made more for men than for women.
Probably for this reason the Maharani asked Van Cleef & Arpels, to rework some of this traditionelle jewels.

The necklace of rubies and diamonds, mounted in platinum, consisted of a line of falling diamonds of respectable weight, from which hung eight rounded diamond briolettes, in the middle of which were set six oval rubies, each weighing about eight carats.
When the Maharani sold some of their jewels in Monaco in 1974, this unusual ruby diamond necklace was included. It was by Van Cleef & Arpels, valued at € 3 193 000.
The outstanding ruby and diamond necklace was later sold on auction in 1974 at Monaco.
Two similar bracelets of diamond and rubies are seen also on her arms.
