Princess Marie of Great Britain and Ireland was born the 29th of October
1875, at Eastwell Park in England, the eldest daughter and second child
of Prince Alfred of Great Britain and Ireland, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince
of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and of the Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia.
From the archiv of Boucheron Paris, an picture of a sprig of misteltoe in diamond and pearls are known. It was a present of the Duke of Edinburgh to his daughter Princess Marie.
In the year 1903 Grand Duchess Marie, Duchess of Edinburgh, the mother of Queen Marie held a Charity exhibition at Coburg, of her famous jewels, as well with the jewels of her daughters. Some of the missing jewels are on display in 1903, as well as this mistletoe sprig diamond head ornament .
