Der Smaragd und Smaragdbrosche mit Diamanten,
stammt aus dem Nachlass von Prinzessin Louise Herzogin von Argyll und
war das Hochzeitsgeschenk ihrer Mutter der Königin Victoria.
Sie hat diese, nach ihrem Tod mit anderen Schmuckstücken der Herzogin
von Kent vermacht.
Die Prinzessin Marina, Herzogin von Kent , geborene Prinzessin von Griechenland und Dänemark war durch Heirat ein Mitglied der britischen königlichen Familie
Die Herzogin trug die Brosche zuletzt 1965 als sie Royal Ascot besuchte und mit Prinzessin Grace von Monaco in der offenen Kutsche fuhr.
Es sollte eine ihrer letzten öffentlichen Auftritte sein, sie war an einem Gehirntumor erkrankt und starb am 27. August 1968.
Die Brosche ist jetzt im Besitz von Marie-Christine, Prinzessin Michael von Kent.

Princess Marina, the Duchess of Kent historic emerald and diamond brooches.
There are two different brooches with emeralds from the Argyll treasure, one with an pear-shaped large pearl drop.
The emerald and diamond brooch was once the wedding present from Queen Victoria to her daughter Louise, Duchess of Argyll.
Princess Louise apparently bequeathed her jewels to her favourite members of the Royal family, the Kents.
Princess Marina the Duchess of Kent, wore it in 1965 when she visit Royal Ascot, it was one of her last engagements in public. She died in 1968 on the 27th of August. 2018 marks the fiftieth anniversary of her death.
Now the brooch is in the possession of Princess Michael of Kent.
